Reproductive Freedom and People of Faith

Join us as we discuss the intersections between reproductive freedom and faith. Our panelists include:
- Omisade Burney-Scott, a Black southern 7th generation native North Carolinian feminist, mother, and healer. Omisade has spent the better part of the past 25 years of her life focused on the liberation of marginalized people, beginning with her own community through advocacy work, philanthropy, community organizing, and culture work. Omisade is the creator/curator of The Black Girls’ Guide to Surviving Menopause, a multimedia project seeking to normalize menopause and aging through the curation of stories that center the truths and realities of Black women, femmes, and non-binary people.

- Rev. Katey Zeh, an ordained Baptist minister and CEO of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. She is the author of "Women Rise Up: Sacred Stories of Resistance for Today’s Revolution" and the co-host of Kindreds, a podcast for soul sisters. Her second book, "A Complicated Choice: Making Space for Grief and Healing in the Pro-Choice Movement," will be published in early 2022.

- Dr. Ben Brown (he/him), an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinician Educator at Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he provides full-spectrum reproductive and sexual health care, with a particular interest in high-acuity and medically complex obstetrical care. His research focuses on family planning policy analysis using quantitative methods and an ethics lens. Ben’s approach to patient care and research is informed by his Quaker faith, and he sees health care service as an opportunity to engage deeply with the practice of liberation theology.
